Jeanie Whitecraft - Ms. Whitecraft has worked with MHASP since 1989 where she developed " The Friends Connection"; a Peer Support Program for people with Co-occurring Disorders, a national evidence based model. Jeanie's commitment to educating the general public about Peer Support and Co-Occurring led her to produce a made for TV Video Documentary, Journey Towards the Light that takes you on a journey in the day of the life of peers helping peers. Jeanie's efforts to educating others has led to the adoption of The Friends Connection model in Montgomery County and interest in starting similar programs around the country. She is currently the Division Director of the National Technical Assistance, Training and Recovery Initiatives. Jeanie's passion for her work comes from personal recovery and family experience. She earned a Master's in Education, is a PA Board Certified addictions counselor and clinical supervisor, and is a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner. Jeanie also assisted in the development of the Certified Peer Specialist Program and has completed the Master Level Mental Health Recovery and WRAP Facilitator Training with Mary Ellen Copeland. She introduced the Wellness Recovery Action Plan to Japan and taught their first facilitators Course in April 2006. Jeanie has received numerous awards for her work in Co-occurring disorders and *co-authored several publications including a chapter in "On Our Own, Together" (Peer Programs for People with Mental Illness) 2005 Vanderbilt University Press
